MONROE - A Monroe man was injured Thursday morning when he fell off a city sanitation truck after a confrontation with city workers in the truck, according to a news release from Lt. Mark Rohloff of the Monroe Police Department.
Christopher M. Miller, 39, is described in the release as a "pedestrian" who attached himself to the sanitation truck and held on as it continued for 960 feet before he let go and was struck by a wheel. This reportedly happened at 9:54 a.m., following a confrontation between Miller, the driver of the truck, John C. McDermott, 38, Browntown, and his coworker, Mitchell D. Kundert, 18, Monroe.
Miller was taken by ambulance to the Monroe Clinic. There is no evidence that alcohol or drugs factored into the incident, according to Rohloff.
Rohloff did not specify where the incident took place, and no one could be reached for further details at the Monroe Police Department.
The release indicates the incident is still under investigation and that police have contacted the Green County Sheriff's Department for assistance in the case.
