M. Germaine Metz, age 96 of Monroe, went home to the Lord on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Azura Memory Care. She was born on December 14, 1918 in Darlington, the daughter of John and Margaret (Mylor) McKillip. Germaine married Lester Dearth on December 29, 1937 in Darlington, Lester died in 1960. She married Joe Metz on July 19, 1973 in Belleville.

She worked for 21 years at St. Clare Hospital as a CNA, prior to that she worked 5 years with private care. Germaine was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, the Golden Age Club, and Women of the Moose Lodge #599. She enjoyed playing cards, quilting, dancing, swimming and fishing, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Germaine is survived by her children, Frank (Lila) Dearth of Argyle, Margaret Wenger, special friend (Keith Miller) of Monroe, Jim (Joanne) Dearth of Friendship, Bill (Nancy) Dearth of Waukesha, John (Sudan) Dearth of Bellevue, NE, Roger (Bonnie) Dearth of Clinton Mary Ann (Tom) Inman of Clinton, Karen (Pat) Boyce of Clinton and Robert (Cheryl) Dearth of LaFayette, IN; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Lois Leahy. She is predeceased by her husbands, Lester and Joe; daughter, Betty Anderson; grandchildren, John Boy, Andy and Billy Jo; step-daughter Lorraine; brothers, Glen, John and Brother Anthony; sisters, Helene Mauk, Annice LaDow, Jane Chadwick and Blanche Sterling; son-in-law, LaVerne Wenger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Victor Catholic Church, with Fr. Larry Bakke as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Blanchardville. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. A memorial fund is being established in Germaine's memory.
