Luella M. Martin, age 87 of South Wayne, died on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Lafayette Manor Nursing Home in Darlington, WI . She was born on December 5, 1924 in South Wayne, WI, the daughter of James and Nellie (Hindman) Schliem and was a graduate of South Wayne High School. Luella and Leo W. Martin Sr. were married on September 14, 1942 in Carthage, MO.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in South Wayne. She enjoyed bird watching, cooking and crocheting. Luella was a great Packer fan and Wisconsin Badger football and basketball fan. Luella cooked at the Village Inn in South Wayne for over 20 years.

She is survived by daughters, Sharon (James) Kurth of Freeport, IL & Eleanor Martin of Apache Junction, AZ; sons, Leo W. (Lynnette) Martin, Jr. of Monroe, WI, Randy (Diane) Martin of Argyle, WI, & Ronald (Sharon ) Martin of Janesville, WI; 23 grandchildren; 60 and counting, great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

She is predeceased her Parents; husband, Leo in July 2002; son, Allen Martin in Nov. 1995; sister, Gladys Peterson; 4 brothers, William Whiles, Lewis , Robert , & Earl Schliem; and 1 grandson, Chris.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr. and 18th Ave. with Rev. Craig Conklin officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in South Wayne.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, December 26, 2011 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home.
