Louise M. Kelty, age 92 of Monroe, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Monroe Manor. Louise was born June 23, 1918 in Monroe, the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Altmann) Heinzelman. She was a graduate of Monroe High School and married Charles A. Kelty on February 8, 1943 in Monroe. Louise and her husband operated a green house and sold Christmas trees on Highway 11 West for 20 years. She also worked for many years at the Sentry store in Monroe. Louise was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the Monroe Garden Club. She enjoyed flower gardening and playing cards with the ladies.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Ellingson; a son, Kris (Jeanette) Kelty, all of Monroe; two grandsons, Matthew (Tracey) Kelty of Edgerton, and Jacob (Angela) Kelty of Fort Atkinson; four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Grace, Nathanyale, and Kiyle Kelty; and an aunt, Helen Altmann of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on August 23, 1992; and son-in-law, Larry Ellingson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Gretchen Sylvester of St. John's United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a luncheon at the Monroe Moose Lodge. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in her name.
