Lolita E. Wenger, age 95 of Monroe, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 2, 2009, at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on September 28, 1913 in Jordan Center, Green County, the daughter of Ernest and Amanda (Kundert) Boegli. On November 12, 1930 she was united in marriage to Fred Wenger Jr. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe. They farmed together in the Woodford, Argyle and Monroe areas for many years, until they moved to Monroe in 1972. She was a member of the Monroe Bible Church. Mom's love for Jesus inspired her to write articles for the Monroe Evening Times for many years. Her articles were encouraging and touched the lives of many people, young and old. She also enjoyed playing the piano, singing and praising her Lord, and reading her Bible. Mom's special gift of music led her to volunteer and reach out to residents at the Monroe Manor for several years. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her much loved family and friends.

She is survived by a son, Fred L. (Phyllis) Wenger of Lake Summerset, IL; daughters, Rose (Gordon) Wahler, Kathy (Roger) Krauss, all of Monroe, and Mary (Ray) Parriott of Orangeville, IL; her many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews; and son-in-law, Walter (Carol) Botteron, of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred; daughters, Darlene Chapman, Evelyn Botteron; great-grandchildren, baby girl Jordan, Orville Anderson; brother, Leon Boegli; sisters, Helene Buol, Lorenza Naef, Luella Goodman, Mae Wirth, and Bertha in infancy.

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe. Co-officiants will be Pastor Eric Erickson and Pastor Dwight Bennett, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held on Thursday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Lolita will be greatly missed and always loved by her entire family.
