Lois E. (Miller) Brunkow age 94 of Monroe, died March 3, 2012 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe. Lois was born October 23, 1917 to Herman J. and Augusta A. (Ringhand) Miller. She graduated from Monroe High School and Green County Normal School in 1936.
Lois taught for several years before working as a bookkeeper for the Green County Farm Bureau. She married Virgil E. Brunkow on August 16, 1997.
Lois was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church, Monroe.
She is survived by two nieces, Karen (David) Bachman of Canon City, CO, and Janis (Chester) Johnson of Monroe; a nephew, Paul (Cheryl) Miller of Monroe; a great niece, Heidi Johnson of Oak Creek, WI; and two great nephews, Andrew Bachman of Centennial, CO, and Benjamin Johnson of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Lyla Rufi; and a brother, Milo H. Miller.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Union Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Marilyn Sandin-Ross officiating. Coffee and rolls will be served following the service. Private family burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given in her name to the Union Presbyterian Church. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
