Monticello Police

On Sept 3:

● At approximately 8:44 p.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a dog at large in the area of County Hwy F.  

● At approximately 9:28 p.m., Officers started investigating a code/ordinance violation in the 100 block of N. Main Street. The incident remains under investigation. 

On Sept. 6:

● At approximately 2:20 p.m., Officers responded to a possible trespassing complaint in the 500 block of S. Main Street.  After arriving the matter was found to be a civil matter.  

● At approximately 2:52 p.m., Officers responded to a suspicious activity complaint in the 200 block of S. Garfield Street.  Responding officers did not locate any suspicious activity in the area. 

● At approximately 3:55 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on E. Coates Avenue at Aeberhard Drive for an observed traffic violation.  As a result of the traffic stop, Uriel Flores Castillo, 37, of Freeport was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

● At approximately 5:43 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on State Hwy 69 at Lake Avenue for an observed traffic violation. As a result of the traffic stop, Andrew H. Blumer, 20, of Monroe was cited for illegal/excessive window tint. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

● At approximately 6:43 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on State Hwy 69 at Lake Avenue for an observed traffic violation. As a result of the traffic stop, Adam S. Miller, 34, of Monticello was cited for a driver’s seatbelt violation. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

On Sept. 7:

● At approximately 8:36 a.m., Officers received a report of a drone flying around in the area of the 500 block of S. Monroe Street. No drones were located. 

● At approximately 9:43 a.m., Officers conducted traffic control on State Hwy 69 at W. Coates Avenue for Monticello Fire First Response who were responding to a medical emergency call outside of the village. 

● At approximately 11:39 a.m., Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Adams Road for a reported motor vehicle crash involving a SUV and 2 motorcycles. An investigation revealed that a 2022 Harley Davidson Motorcycle was traveling North on Adams Road and had crossed the centerline of the roadway.  As a result, the motorcycle collided with a 2020 Buick Encore SUV that was traveling South. The second motorcycle, a 2005 Harley Davidson was also traveling Northbound had then collided with the first motorcycle. The operator the 2022 Harley Davidson received non-life threatening injuries and was transported by Green County EMS. The operator of the 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle was treated on scene with no medical transport. The 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle and the 2020 Buick Encore SUV were towed from the scene. Monticello Fire/First Response also assisted at the crash scene. 

● At approximately 3:26 p.m., Officers received a report of a found canoe at the 100 block of W. Lake Avenue. The owner took possession.  

● At approximately 3:22 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on State Hwy 69 at W. Coates Avenue for an observed traffic violation. As a result of the traffic stop, William W. Anderson, 71, of Richland Center was cited for a driver’s seatbelt violation. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 


Monroe Police

On Sept. 2:

● At 1:13 a.m., officers arrested Jacob A. Setterstrom, 21, Monroe, following a traffic offense stop in the 300 block of 18th Avenue. Setterstrom was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated 1st offense, and was also cited for operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration, improper display of license plate and open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. Setterstrom was released to a responsible person pending a court appearance. 

● At 3:20 p.m., officers arrested Shawn W. Boss, 22, Monroe, at a business in the 1600 block of 9th Street, on a warrant issued by the Green County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor bail jumping case. Boss was subsequently arrested on a hold issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections- Probation and Parole for a violation of probation terms. Boss was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings. 

On Sept.4:

● 1:55 AM, officers were called to a vehicle vs parked vehicle accident with no reported injuries in the 2500 block of 9thStreet. An investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Brandon A. Field (28), Monroe, was westbound on 9th Street, collided with a legally parked and unoccupied vehicle, rolled, and came to rest on its roof. The second vehicle, after being collided with by Field’s vehicle, collided with a third legally parked and unoccupied vehicle. Field was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-2nd offense, and was also cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle. Field’s vehicle sustained severe damages and was towed. The second vehicle sustained moderate damages and was towed. The third vehicle sustained minor damages. Field was released to a responsible person pending a court appearance.

● 5:40 p.m., officers cited Shayna N. Krebs (25), South Wayne, with retail theft following a complaint at a business in the 300 block of 6th Avenue West. Krebs was released pending a court appearance.

On Sept. 10:

● At approximately 2:32 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop near State Highway 69 and 30th Street. Investigation into the traffic stop resulted in the driver/ Scot M, Meneguin/ 36, Argyle/ being arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence 4th Offense. Scot was issued criminal citations for Operating Without Ignition Interlock Device and Operating After Revocation Due to Alcohol Related Convictions. Scot was also cited for an Improper Left Turn. Scot was confined at the Green County Jail,  pending a court appearance.

● At approximately 4:11 a.m. Officer responded to the 700 block of 8th Avenue Investigation resulted in Kiley C. J. Flynn,25, McConnell,  being arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Kiley was taken to the Green County Jail/ where she later posted cash bond and was released pending an initial court appearance.

● At approximately 7:23 p.m. Officer responded to the 2100 block of 15th Street, for a report of a domestic disturbance. Investigation resulted in Dennis E. Beutel, 52, Monroe, being arrested for Disorderly Conduct (Domestic Related),Battery, (Domestic Related)/ Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer,and Felony Bail Jumping. Dennis was taken to the Green County Jail, where he was held pending an initial court appearance.

On Sept. 11:

● 2:49 a.m. Officers responded to the 1400 block of 2nd Street after receiving a 911 call reporting a disturbance in the area. Upon arrival, officers located two subjects sitting in a parked vehicle. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Luis R. Munoz Garcia (18) of Monroe, for Underage/Possession Consume Alcohol and Possession Open Intoxicants MV-Driver. Luis was booked at the Monroe Police Department and issued Municipal citations for the offenses. Luis was later released pending his mandatory court appearance.


Lafayette County Sheriff

On Aug 12

● 4:45 a.m. Ronny A Buegre, 53, Darlington reported striking a deer on STH 23, Darlington Township. No injuries were reported and Buegre’s 2018 Ford received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 8:43 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to Main ST in the City for a medical emergency. Darlington Police assisted on scene.

● 9:14 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH G, Willow Springs Township for a civil dispute.

● 9:53 a.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to W Blackstone ST in the City for a medical emergency. Shullsburg Police assisted on scene.

● 5:54 p.m. Belmont Fire responded to W Mound View AV in the Village for a smell of gas.

● 8:21 p.m. A deputy responded to Airport LN, Willow Springs Township for a citizen assist.

● 9:58 p.m. A deputy responded to E Milwaukee ST in the Village of Argyle for a 911 misdial.

● 10:39 p.m. A deputy responded to Rennick RD, Shullsburg Township for a 911 misdial.

On Aug. 13

● At approximately, 9:29 p.m., officers were completing a call in the 300 block of 21st Street, when officers were approached by a motorist, Patricia was also cited for Operating without a Valid Driver’s License 1st Offense and Driver Possession of Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle. Patricia was taken to the Green County Jail, where she was later released pending a mandatory court appearance.

On Aug 14:

● 12:23 a.m. Deputies responded to USH 151, Belmont Township for a check welfare. Platteville Police, and deputies from the Grant and Iowa County Sheriff s Offices assisted on scene.

● 12:27 a.m. A deputy responded to Second RD, Darlington Township for a check welfare.

● 6:13 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to E Catherine ST in the City for a medical emergency. Darlington Police assisted on scene.

● 7:01 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH M, Wiota Township for a check welfare.

● 12:02 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH G, Willow Springs Township for a one vehicle accident. Mariah R Gibson, 31, Darlington was traveling eastbound on CTH G when she failed to maintain control of her 2002 Toyota and drove through a fence before coming to rest down a steep embankment. Gibson denied injuries and her vehicle was towed from the scene with disabling damage. Gibson was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance.

● 2:36 p.m. A deputy responded to W Commerce ST in the Village of Belmont for a vehicle unlock.

● 6:30 p.m. A deputy responded to Trotter LN, Argyle Township for a check welfare.

● 8:16 p.m. Dylan J Croisant, 27, Platteville was cited for Speeding on CTH XX, Belmont Township.

● 9:15 p.m. A deputy responded to Main ST, Wiota Township for a civil dispute.

● 12:10 a.m. Dylan L Rebout, 19, Darlington was cited for Operating while Suspended and Speeding on CTH KK, Gratiot Township.

On August 16:

● 2:30 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 81, City of Darlington to assist the Darlington Police Department with a traffic stop.

● 6:48 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 23, Willow Springs Township for a traffic complaint. 

● 7:03 a.m. Belmont EMS responded to Dawn Vista Dr, Village of Belmont for a medical emergency.  Belmont Police Department assisted on scene. 

● 7:29 a.m. Deputies responded to STH 11, Shullsburg Township for a one vehicle accident. William M Lyons, 49, Dubuque IA was traveling eastbound on STH 11.  While driving, Lyons’ crossed the center line exited the roadway and entered the westbound ditch.  Lyons’ 2015 Freightliner semi, owned by Penske Truck Leasing, Reading PA received no damage and was towed from the ditch.  

● 8:16 a.m. A deputy responded to E Milwaukee St, Village of Argyle for a check welfare. 

● 8:40 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH W, Town of New Diggings for a theft complaint. 

● 10:00 a.m. Deputies responded to CTH G, Town of Kendall to assist another agency to search for a possible stolen vehicle. 

● 10:19 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH G, Town of Belmont for a criminal damage to property complaint. 

● 1:25 p.m. A deputy responded to Philippine Rd, Town of Wiota for livestock on the roadway. 

● 3:26 p.m. Kevin C Humphrey, 33, Shullsburg was arrested by the Shullsburg Police Department on E Water St, City of Shullsburg for Felony Bail Jumping.  Humphrey was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he remains in custody. 

● 3:54 p.m. A deputy responded to S Galena St, Village of South Wayne for an animal bite.

● 6:15 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 78, Town of Gratiot for a check welfare.

● 6:18 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH F, Darlington Township for a traffic hazard. 

● 10:00 p.m. Jose A Gonzalez-Pena, 18, Darlington was arrested by the Darlington Police Department on Main St, City of Darlington for a valid Lafayette County warrant.  Gonzalez-Pena was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he remains in custody. 

● 10:27 p.m. Deputies responded to Dublin Rd, Town of Darlington for a check welfare.

● 2:50 p.m. Bradley D Kieler, 46, Platteville was cited for Operating an ATV in a Reckless Manner on Center Driver RD, Elk Grove Township.

● 5:40 p.m. A deputy responded to USH 151, Belmont Township for a traffic hazard.

● 7:58 p.m. A deputy responded to Carr Factory RD, Benton Township, for a 911 misdial.

On Aug 24:

● 12:12 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to E Catherine ST, City of Darlington for a medical emergency. Darlington Police assisted on scene. 

● 7:04 a.m. Dean H. Schaaf, 65, Dodgeville reported striking a deer on Deery RD, Willow Springs Township. Schaaf’s 2018 Ford received minor damage and was driven from the scene. 

● 9:01 a.m. Belmont EMS responded under mutual aid to E Madison ST, City of Platteville for a medical emergency. 

● 3:05 p.m. Shullsburg Fire, Shullsburg EMS responded to Johnson RD, Shullsburg Township for a structure fire. Benton Fire, Deputies and Shullsburg Police assisted on scene. 

● 6:19 p.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to W Estey ST in the city for a medical emergency. 

● 8:25 p.m. A deputy responded to W River ST, City of Darlington to assist Darlington Police with a vicious animal.

● 1:34 a.m. A deputy responded to Main ST, Village of Blanchardville for a check welfare.

● 7:07 p.m. Andy Velasquez-Garay, 26, Darlington was cited for OWL and Non Registration on Center DR, City of Darlington.

● 7:52 p.m. A deputy responded to Railroad AV, Village of Benton for a civil dispute. 

● 8:30 p.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to E Peace ST, in the city for a medical emergency. A deputy assisted on scene. 

● 8:57 p.m. Mario N. Amaya-Baca, 36, Darlington was arrested on STH 11, City of Shullsburg for OWL (2nd). Amaya-Baca was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked on his charge and released. 

● 10:53 p.m. Deputies responded to S McKnight ST, Village of South Wayne for a check welfare. 

On Aug 26:

● 3:32 a.m. A deputy responded to S Lafayette ST in the Village of Argyle for a 911 misdial.

● 8:09 a.m.  A deputy responded to Main ST, Wiota Township for suspicious activity.

● 9:07 a.m. Amanda L Berry, 33, Loves Park, IL was cited for Operating without a Valid Driver’s License on STH 81, Darlington Township.

● 11:18 a.m. A deputy responded to Hill ST, Darlington Township for a vehicle unlock.

● 11:46 a.m.  Juan C Ruiz-Hernandez, 21, Darlington was arrested for Operating without a Valid Driver’s License, 2nd Offense on STH 81, Darlington Township. Ruiz-Hernandez was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and released.

● 12:53 a.m. A deputy responded to River RD, Argyle Township for keep the peace.

● 1:38 p.m.  A deputy responded to Ridge AV in the Village of Benton for check welfare.

● 2:52 p.m.  A deputy responded to STH 78, Argyle Township for citizen assist.

● 5:47 p.m. A deputy responded to USH 151, Belmont Township for a traffic complaint.

● 6:46 p.m.  A deputy responded to W Union ST in the City of Shullsburg for a one vehicle accident. Yelsin A Toj-Godinez, 26, Shullsburg was traveling on W Union ST in a 2018 Dodge when he accelerated and lost control, striking the curb and coming to rest against a telephone pole. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene with severe damage. Toj-Godinez was cited for Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control.

8:39 p.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to S Kennedy ST in the City for a medical emergency. A deputy assisted on scene.

● 8:44 p.m. A deputy responded to Sawmill RD, Argyle Township for an animal problem.

● 9:10 p.m. A deputy responded to E Water ST in the City of Shullsburg for a citizen assist.

● 9:55 p.m. A deputy responded to E Truth ST in the City of Shullsburg for check welfare.

On August 27:

● 5:10 a.m. A deputy assisted Darlington Police on Wells ST in the City for an alarm.

● 10:09 a.m. A deputy responded to Ench RD, Benton Township for an animal problem.

● 10:23 a.m. Darlington Fire and Lafayette County EMS responded to CTH G, Fayette Township for a one vehicle accident. Hunter T Ubersox, 18, Argyle was driving westbound on CTH G, when he lost control, and entered a ditch.  The vehicle then struck a fence and a tree.  Ubersox and his passenger, Bentley L Phillipson, 17, Argyle were transported to the hospital and Ubersox’ 1997 Dodge was towed from the scene with severe damage.  

● 10:53 a.m. A deputy responded to Galena ST in the Village of Benton for a vehicle unlock.

● 12:05 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, Gratiot Township for a traffic hazard.

● 12:10 p.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to STH 23, Willow Springs Township for a medical emergency. A deputy assisted on scene.

● 1:29 p.m. Argyle EMS responded to First ST in the Village for a medical emergency.

● 7:36 a.m. Karri M McCarthy, 45, Darlington reported striking a deer on CTH G, Belmont Township. McCarthy’s 2020 Nissan received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
