On August 3:

● 12:17 AM Alex J Stites, 26, Orangeville IL was arrested for Possession of THC and Operating while Revoked on CTH KK, Gratiot Township.  Stites was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and released.  In addition, Stites was cited for Excessive Window Tint. 

● 7:43 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH F, Darlington Township for an animal problem.

● 7:51 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to E Catherine St, City of Darlington for a medical emergency.

● 9:31 a.m. Deputies responded to STH 81, Town of Elk Grove for a report of theft.

● 10:49a.m. A deputy responded to CTH F, Fayette Township for a motorist assist.

● 2:26 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH D, Town of Wiota for a check welfare.

● 4:03 p.m. Deputies responded to CTH H, Town of Benton for a check welfare.  

● 4:11 p.m. A deputy responded to Roller Coaster Rd, Darlington Township for a traffic complaint.

● 6:03 p.m. A deputy responded to S Wyota St, Wayne Township for a civil dispute.

● 6:44 p.m.  Jill R Kellbach, 47, Alexandria VA reported striking a deer on STH 81, Town of Argyle. Kellbach’s Ford received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. 

● 7:34 p.m.  Deputies responded to CTH H, Town of Benton for a check welfare.  Benton Fire, Benton First Response and Cuba City Fire assisted on scene.

● 10:41 p.m. A deputy responded to Cisserville Rd, Wiota Township for a report of a suspicious vehicle.

On August 5:

● 12:01 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH M, Darlington Township for a 911 misdial.

● 4:20 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH O, Kendall Township for a check welfare.

● 4:43 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH E, Darlington Township for livestock on the roadway.

● 5:25 a.m. Sherry A Fink, 53. Belmont reported striking a deer on USH 151, Belmont Township. Fink’s 2016 Kia received moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

● 6:50 p.m. A deputy, along with his K9 responded to STH 78, Iowa County to assist with a traffic stop.  

● 1:44 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 23, Gratiot Township for a disabled vehicle. 

● 11:21 p.m. A deputy responded to Trotter Rd, Town of Wiota for a report of  a suspicious vehicle.  

On August 6:

● 12:57 a.m. Deputies responded to STH 11, Village of South Wayne for a motorcycle accident.  Jaiden AT Tuescher, 25, Argyle was traveling on STH 11 when he lost control of his motorcycle, exited the roadway and came to a rest on the side of the road.  South Wayne First Response, South Wayne Fire and Green County EMS assisted on scene.  Tuescher was cited for No Insurance. Tuescher was transported by EMS with injuries. Tuescher’s 2002 Harley Davidson received severe damage and was towed from the scene. 

● 2:06 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, Village of South Wayne for a one vehicle accident. Anna E Fitzsimons, 27, Darlington was parked on the side of STH 11 when her vehicle came out of gear and slid down into the ditch.  Fitzsimon’s 2016 Toyota received minor damage and was pulled out of the ditch and driven from the scene. 

● 9:23p.m. A deputy responded to STH 126, Belmont Township to assist with traffic control.

● 10:49 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH W, Shullsburg Township for an animal injured on the roadway.

● 2:14p.m.ArgyleEMS responded to N State St, Village of Argyle for a medical emergency

● 5:14 p.m. A deputy responded to E Milwaukee St, Village of Argyle for a check welfare. 

● 5:16 pm. Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded to Alma St, Village of Benton for a medical emergency.

● 5:19 p.m. A deputy responded to Wayne Center Rd, Village of South Wayne to assist the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office.  As a result, Nicholas R Kulas, 41, Pearl City IL was arrested for Operating without a License. Kulas was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and released on a cash bond.  

● 5:29 p.m. A deputy responded to County Shop Rd, Darlington Township for an ATV complaint. 

● 6:20 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 78, Argyle Township to assist the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a check welfare. 

● 7:34p.m. A deputy responded to CTH M, Wiota Township for a suspicious activity complaint. 

● 7:58 p.m. A deputy responded to River Rd, Argyle Township for an animal injured on the roadway.

● 8:01 p.m. A deputy responded to Berry Rd, Darlington Township for a juvenile problem.

● 8:12 p.m. Mario R Martinez-Perea, 25, Darlington was cited for Operate without a License (2nd) and Unreasonable and Imprudent Speed on Clay St, City of Darlington. 

● 8:32 p.m. A deputy responded to Main St, City of Darlington to assist the Darlington Police Department with a traffic complaint.

● 8:45 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH G, Belmont Township for a minor two vehicle accident. Colton M Riechers, 17, Darlington was backing out of a private drive when he struck a 2010 Audi driven by Will R Cutler, 19, Platteville.  Riecher’s 2001 Dodge and Cutler’s 2010 Audi both received minor damage and were driven from the scene.

● 8:48 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH Y, Argyle Township for a check welfare. 

● 9:03 p.m. Rory W Buss, 40, Darlington was cited for Operating while Intoxicated on STH 23, Willow Springs Township. Buss was released to a responsible party.

On August 7:

● 12:44 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 81, City of Darlington to assist the Darlington Police Department with a commercial alarm.

● 2:24 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH Y, Town of Wiota for a check welfare. 

● 12:04 p.m. A deputy responded to Beebe Rd, Town of Benton for livestock on the roadway. 

● 3:40 p.m. Gratiot First Response and Green County EMS responded to Riverbend Rd, Town of Gratiot for a medical emergency. 

● 8:49 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH W, New Diggings Township for livestock on the roadway. 

● 10:05 p.m. Juwaun A Carter, 20, Janesville was arrested on a Probation and Parole violation, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance, Operating While Under the Influence and Operate without Valid License on STH 11, Benton Township. Carter was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he remains in custody.

● 10:36 p.m. A deputy responded to S Warren St, Village of South Wayne for an animal bite.

On August 8:

● 3:33 a.m. Woodford Fire and First Response responded to Larson RD, Wiota Township for a tree fire.

● 4:38 a.m. Deputies responded to CTH O, Kendall Township for a check welfare.

● 5:36 a.m. Hazel Green Fire responded to CTH W, Benton Township for a power pole on fire.

On August 9:

● 1:13 a.m. Deputies responded to N State ST in the Village of Argyle for check welfare.

● 10:23 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 23, Darlington Township for a civil dispute.

● 11:26 a.m. A deputy responded to Rennick RD, Shullsburg Township for livestock on the roadway.

● 4:27 p.m. Deputies responded to CTH F, Darlington Township for a traffic complaint. Darlington Police assisted.

On August 10:

● 3:54 p.m. Brenton C Hodapp, 28, Juda was cited for Operating an ATV after Hours on CTH K, Darlington Township.

● 5:29 a.m. A deputy responded to Fayette Rd, Darlington Township for a one vehicle accident.  A male juvenile was traveling on Fayette Rd when he fell asleep, causing the vehicle to exit the roadway, enter the ditch and strike a telephone pole.  The 2000 GMC received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Darlington Police Department and Alliant Energy assisted on scene. 

● 6:20 a.m. A deputy responded to Southwest Rd, Benton Township for an animal problem.

● 10:42 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to Main St, City of Darlington for a medical emergency. 

● 12:03 p.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to Lange Rd, Darlington Township for a medical emergency.  A deputy assisted on scene. 

● 2:43 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH Y, Argyle Township for an animal problem.

● 8:02 p.m. A deputy responded to E Milwaukee St, Village of Argyle for a report of a suspicious vehicle. 

● 8:46 p.m. Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded to W Main St, Village of Benton for a medical emergency.  A deputy assisted on scene.

● 10:12 p.m. A deputy responded to Faymont Rd, Fayette Township for livestock on the roadway.

● 11:14 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH P, Shullsburg Township for a traffic hazard.  

● 11:22 p.m. Michael A Jones, 51, Argyle was cited for No Insurance on STH 78, Argyle Township. 

● 11:24 p.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to E Water St, City of Shullsburg for a medical emergency. A deputy assisted on scene. 


Monticello Police

On Aug 30:

● At approximately 11:16 a.m., Officers were contacted by a resident in the 200 block of N. Main Street in reference to some matters that were civil in nature and not criminal.  Information was provided to the resident.  No further action was taken. 

● At approximately 3:27 p.m., Officers received a cell phone that was found in the 100 block of N. Monroe Street.  A short time later the phone’s owner called the phone.  The cell phone was returned to its owner. 

● At approximately 3:31 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of State Hwy 69 and W. Coates Avenue for an observed traffic violation.  As a result of the traffic stop Cody A. Smythe-Coulthard of Monroe was cited for a driver seatbelt violation.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

● At approximately 5:23 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of State Hwy 69 and W. Coates Avenue for an observed traffic violation.  As a result of the traffic stop, William M. Osbaugh of Browntown was cited for a driver seatbelt violation.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

On Sept. 1:

● At approximately 8:46 a.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Garfield Street for an animal complaint. It was reported a dog was at large. The investigation is ongoing

● At approximately 9:16 a.m., Officers were requested by the Green County Highway Department to assist them with traffic control.  This was in the area of State Hwy 69 and County Hwy C.  The highway department needed to load up some heavy equipment.  No further action was needed. 

On Sept.2:

● At approximately 8:54 a.m., Officers received a complaint that a resident had blown excessive grass clipping out into the middle of the street in the 100 block of E. Highland Avenue.  Pictures were taken.  The matter remains under investigation. 

● At approximately 9:44 a.m., Officers received a report of an abandoned vehicle in the area of E. Coates Avenue and Aeberhard Drive.  Contact was made with the owner of the vehicle and arrangements were made to have the vehicle removed. 


Brodhead Police

On August 4

● 12:37 p.m., Police responded to the 900 block of 13th St. for the report of a Code Violation; report of an unkept lawn. The area was checked and Police advised it was wildflowers, not the lawn. No other violations were located. 

● 1:00 p.m., Police responded to the 600 block of W 3rd Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; report of an unkempt lawn. Police checked the property and did not locate any other violation. 

● 1:02 p.m., Police responded to the 1800 block of W 3rd Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; report of an unkempt lawn. Police checked the property and did not locate any other violation. 

● 1:07 p.m., Police responded to the 1200 block of 16th St. for the report of a Code Violation; report of debris on the property. Police made contact with resident and they were already in the process of clearing the items away. 

● 1:08 p.m., Police responded to the 900 block of 14th St. for the report of a Code Violation; report of an unkempt lawn. The resident was contacted and advised of the complaint. 

● 1:21 p.m., Police responded to the 1600 block of W 3rd Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; several vehicles on the property. Police reported all vehicles were registered and in working order. 

● 1:21 p.m., Police responded to the 1300 block of W 3rd Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; report of debris on the property. Police made contact with the resident and advised them of the complaint. 

● 1:43p.m., Police responded to the 1900 block of W 7th Ave. for the report of Harassment; a subject receiving threats. This matter remains under investigation.  

● 3:43 p.m., a 34 year old Freeport, IL, man was cited in the 600 block of 1st St. for Operating after Suspension. 

 ● 4:30 p.m., an 18 year old Janesville woman was cited in the 600 block of 1st St. for Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance Required. 

● 5:06 p.m., a 23 year old Brodhead man was cited in the 1100 block of 16th St. for Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance Required. 

● 6:48p.m., a 21 year old Madison man was cited in the 600 block of 1st St. for Speeding. 

On August 5:

● 9:16a.m., a 46 year old Morrison, IL, woman was cited in the 600 block of 1st St. for Speeding. 

● 12:54p.m., a 32 year old Brodhead woman was cited in the 600 block of E 9th Ave. for Speeding. 

● 1:33p.m., a 52 year old Beloit man was cited in the 600 block of E 9th Ave. for Speeding. 

● 2:16p.m., a 28 year old Durand, IL, woman was cited in the 600 block of E 9th Ave. for Speeding. 

On August 6:

● 9:19a.m., Police responded to the 600 block of W 2nd. Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; debris on property and an unkempt lawn. This matter is pending contact with the resident / property owner. 

● 6:11p.m., a 21 year old Orfordville woman was cited in the 400 block of 1st St for Speeding. 

On August 7

● 3:06 a.m., Police responded to the 1000 block of W 3rd Ave. for Disorderly Conduct; subjects involved in a verbal altercation. Contact was made and the parties were separated for the night. 

● 6:13a.m., Police responded to the 2400 block of 1st Center Ave. for the report of an Animal Problem; a dog struck by a vehicle. The dog was released to the Green County Humane Society. 

● 6:48 p.m., a 41 year old Brodhead man was cited in the 1700 block of 1st Center Ave. for Non-registration of Auto. 

● 7:54 p.m., Police responded to the 700 block of 12th St. for a Parking Complaint; vehicles parking in a yard. Contact was made and warnings were issued; the vehicles were moved by the drivers. 

● 9:11p.m., a 29 year old Milwaukee man was cited in the 400 block of E 4th Ave for Speeding. 

On Aug 8:

● 4:41 p.m., Police responded to the 1800 block of E 3rd Ave for the report of Disorderly Conduct. This matter remains under investigation. 

On Aug 9:

● 11:36 a.m., Police responded to the 600 block of 10th St for the report of a Theft; power washer and extension cords stolen. This matter remains under investigation. 

● 2:31 p.m., Police responded to the 800 block of E Exchange St for the report of a Counterfeit bill. This matter remains under investigation. 

● 7:35 p.m., a 36 year old Brodhead man was arrested in the 1000 block of W Exchange St for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting an Officer. 

On Aug 10:

● 8:35 a.m., Police responded to the 600 block of E 5th Ave. for the report of Fraud; someone using another person’s information. This matter remains under investigation. 

● 11:44 p.m., a 35 year old Janesville man was arrested in the 1100 block of 1st Center Ave. on a warrant issued by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office. He was also cited for Possession of Marijuana. 

On Aug 11:

● 1:00 p.m., a 65 year old Davis, IL, woman was cited in the 100 block of 23rd St. for Speeding. B22-04788

● 8:42 p.m., a 22 year old Abbotsford man was cited in the 100 block of 14th St. for Operating While Suspended.

On Aug 12:

● 12:51 a.m., a 60 year old Wittenberg man was cited in the 500 block of 1st St. for Speeding. 

● 2:24 a.m., Police responded to the 400 block of W 3rd Ave. for a Code Violation; a subject in the park after hours. Contact was made and a warning was issued. 

● 12:08 p.m., Police responded to the 600 block of W 3rd Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; an unkempt lawn. The property was checked and no violation was observed. 

● 12:44 p.m., Police responded to the 1800 block of W 3rd Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; an unkempt lawn. The property was checked and no violation was observed. 

● 12:47 p.m., Police responded to the 1300 block of W 3rd Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; an unkempt lawn. The property was checked and no violation was observed. 

● 12:49 p.m., Police responded to the 1000 block of 12th St. for the report of a Code Violation; an unkempt lawn. The property was checked and Police noted someone was cleaning the yard up. 

● 12:52 p.m., Police responded to the 1100 blocked 4th St. for the report of a Code Violation; debris on the property. Police noted the house had just had work done; debris was from that work. 

● 12:57 p.m., Police responded to the 700 block of W 2nd Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; an unkempt \lawn. The property was checked and no violation was observed.
