Monticello Police

On Sept. 26:

● 5:30 p.m., Police responded to the 1000 block of 1st Center Ave. for the report of an Animal Problem; a dog running at large. Police checked the area but did not locate the dog.

On Sept. 24:

● 8:08 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to Dobbs East RD, Lamont Township for a medical emergency.

● 2:33 p.m. A deputy responded to S Van Buren ST in the Village of Benton for harassment.

● 5:13 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH XX, Belmont Township for check welfare.

● 5:43 p.m. Noe Hernandez, 34, Prairie du Chien was cited for Speeding and No Valid Driver’s License on STH 23, Darlington Township.

● 6:31 p.m. A deputy responded to USH 151, Belmont Township for a traffic complaint.

● 7:29 p.m. Jayden D Vavricka, 16, Montfort was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign on W Mound RD, Belmont Township.

● 7:54 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 23, Willow Springs Township for a parking problem.

● 8:42 p.m. Nathan R Downs, 31, Blanchardville was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and Open Intoxicants on W Mound RD, Belmont Township.

● 8:52 p.m. Blanchardville EMS responded to Cross ST in the Village for a medical emergency. Blanchardville Police assisted.

● 10:03 p.m. A deputy responded to E Water ST in the City of Shullsburg for a lift assist.

● 10:29 p.m. A deputy responded to E Truth ST in the City of Shullsburg for suspicious activity.

● 11:37 p.m. A deputy assisted Darlington Police on Main St in the City for disorderly conduct.

On Sept. 25:

● 2:06 a.m. Argyle EMS and Woodford First Response responded to STH 78, Wiota Township, for a medical emergency. Green County EMS and a deputy assisted on scene.

● 7:19 a.m. Margaret K. Pyfer, 77, Freeport, IL, was cited for Speeding on STH 23, Darlington Township.

● 11:36 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to E Catherine ST in the City of Darlington for a medical emergency. Darlington Police Department assisted on scene.

● 2:14 p.m. Robert E. McCottrell, 52, Chicago, IL, was cited for Speeding on STH 81, Darlington Township. 

● 2:55 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH W, White Oak Springs Township, for threats to injure.

● 4:57 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, Benton Township, for a vehicle unlock.

● 5:30 p.m. Nicholas J. Pierce, 32, West Des Moines, IA, was cited for Speeding on CTH W, White Oak Springs Township.

● 5:49 p.m. Laura L. Gundlach, 54, Shullsburg, was cited for Unreasonable & Imprudent Speed, Non-Registration of Auto, No Insurance, and Operating after Suspension on Martin RD, Monticello Township.

● 6:40 p.m. Brett C. Schuler, 33, Knoxville, TN, was cited for Speeding on STH 23, Gratiot Township.

● 7:52 p.m. A deputy assisted Darlington Police Department with a domestic dispute on E Louisa ST in the City of Darlington.

● 10:35 p.m. Dylen B. Ecker, 21, Chilton, was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign on Mitchell Hollow RD, Belmont Township.

● 11:25 p.m. A deputy responded to E Water ST in the City of Shullsburg for a 911 misdial. Darlington Police Department assisted.

● 11:33 p.m. A deputy responded to Mineral RD, Seymour Township, for livestock on the roadway.

On Sept. 26:

● 2:43 a.m. Oscar Cruz-Zetino, 26, Detroit MI was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and Operating without a License on CTH W, Shullsburg Township.

● 2:43 a.m. Juan Carranza-Rivera, 49, Madison Heights MI was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign on CTH W, Shullsburg Township. 

● 2:43 a.m. Roberto Guzman-Vasquez, 38, Sterling Heights MI was cited for Failure to Stop at Stop Sign and Operating without a License on CTH W, Shullsburg Township. 

● 6:23 a.m. Blanchardville Fire and Blanchardville EMS responded to E Hill St, Village of Blanchardville for a possible fire. Blanchardville Police Department assisted on scene.


Monroe Police

 On Oct 22:

● At approximately 6:39p.m., Officers responded to the intersection of 17th Avenue and 12th Street, for a two vehicle traffic crash with now reported injuries. Investigation revealed, Curt T. Bahler, 68, Monroe was northbound at the stop sign at 12th Street, Curt then proceeded into the intersection, where he was struck by a vehicle operated by Andres Perez Viveros, 29, Monroe. Andres was traveling westbound on 12th Street, when he stopped at the stop sign at 17th Avenue. Andres then proceeded westbound into the intersection, where he struck Curt’s vehicle. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene. All occupants reported sustaining no injuries. Andres was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Stop Sign and Operating without a Valid Driver’s License. Andres was released pending court. 

● At approximately, 9:34p.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Mansion Drive, for a disturbance. Investigation resulted in Tony J. Gratz, 45, Monroe, being arrested for Disorderly Conduct (Domestic Related). Tony posted cash bond and was released pending a initial court appearance. 

On Oct 23:

● At approximately 7:46 p.m. Officers responded to the 800 block of 17th Street for a single vehicle traffic crash with no reported injuries. Investigation revealed Juan P. Polanco Hernandez 23, Monroe was traveling westbound in the 800 block of 17th Street when he lost control of his motor vehicle exiting the roadway to the north. The vehicle collided with a power pole causing line damage and a power outage. Juan reported sustaining no injuries as a result of the crash. Juan’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Alliant Energy responded and restored power. Juan was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence 1st Offense and Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration Greater than .15. Juan was also cited for Operating without a Valid Driver’s License 2nd Offense. Juan was released to a responsible party pending an initial court appearance.
