Monroe Police

On Dec. 13:

● At approximately 5:18 p.m. Officers responded to the intersection of 6th Avenue West and West 8th Street/ for a two vehicle crash with no reported injuries. Investigation revealed that Kimberly K. Nye, 61, Freeport, Illinois, was traveling westbound on W. 8th Street, when she failed to stop at the stop sign at 6th Avenue W. Kimberly’s vehicle collided with the vehicle of Jayden J. Johnson,20, Argyle,  who was traveling northbound. Kimberly’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Jayden’s vehicle sustained damage and airbag deployment. Jayden’s vehicle was removed by Jayden. Kimberly was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and released pending court.

Dec. 16:

● At approximately 9:15 a.m., Officers responded to the intersection of State Highway 69 and 8th Street, for a two vehicle crash with no reported injuries. Investigation revealed that Judy Ngo, 33,Toronto, Canada, was northbound on State Highway 69, stopped at the red traffic control light, when she was struck from behind, by another northbound vehicle operated by Marcia A. David, 65,Freeport, Illinois. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene. Marcia was cited for Auto Follow too Close. Marcia was released pending court.

● At approximately 2:13 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of N l8th Avenue, for a report of a two vehicle crash with no reported injuries. Investigation revealed Lynnette A. Martin,70, Monroe, was operating eastbound on the off ramp of State Highway 11, at N l8th Avenue. Lynnette began turning northbound, when she struck a southbound vehicle operated by Walter A. Botteron, 84, Monroe. Lynnette’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Walter’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Lynnette was cited for Fail to Yield the Right of Way from a Stop Sign and released pending court.

● At approximately 9:37 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of 9th Street, for a reported hit and run crash. Investigation revealed Zachary M.D. Estep, 16, Monroe, was operating in the 2500 block of 9th Street, when his vehicle struck a legally parked vehicle, owned by Christine L. Heyden, 51, Davis, Illinois. Zachary then fled the scene and was later located by Officers. Both vehicles sustained damage. Zachary was cited for Hit and Run of Unattended Vehicle and Operating without a Valid Driver’s License. Zachary was released pending court.

On Dec. 19:

● 7:43 a.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with no reported injuries in the 2100 block of l6th Avenue. An investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Lynne A. Hardy (58), Monroe, pulled on to l6th Avenue from a driveway and collided with a vehicle, operated by Yessy C. Ortiz Rivera (31), Monroe. There was minor to moderate vehicle damages respectively. Hardy was cited for failure to yield the right of way while emerging from a non-highway access, and was released pending a court appearance. Ortiz Rivera was cited for operating without a valid driver s license, and was released pending a court appearance.


Monticello Police

On Dec. 2:

● At approximately 10:55 p.m., Officers were stopped by a citizen in the 200 block of N. Main Street.  The citizen had questions about a civil dispute.  Officers provided what information they could to the citizen.
