Lewis P. Olsen, age 89 of rural Woodford, WI, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Monroe Manor in Monroe, WI, following a brief illness. He was born January 21, 1920 on the Olsen family farm in Wiota Township, the son of Oswald and Bernadine "Bertha" (Houg) Olsen. Lewis was united in marriage to Wilma Hanson on June 20, 1948 at Jordan Lutheran Church. He was raised on the Olsen family farm in the Cherry Branch area near Wiota, where he farmed with his wife until their retirement.

Lewis is survived by one son, Doral Olsen of rural Woodford, WI; one daughter, Eunice (Gary) Jenson of rural Woodford, WI; two grandsons, Matthew (Rachel) Jenson of Argyle, WI, and Justin Jenson of rural Woodford; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Callee Jenson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilma on July 26, 1999; one son, Ronald in infancy; and one sister, Inez Due in 1994.

Lewis was a member of Wiota Lutheran Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, driving the tractor, and playing cards. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009 at Wiota Lutheran Church, 6682 State Road 78, Wiota, WI, with Rev. Connie Matye of Peace Lutheran Church in Belmont, WI, officiating. Burial will be in East Wiota Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle.
