Lettie A. Dammen

Lettie A. Dammen, age 97, of rural Argyle, WI, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, WI. She was born December 9, 1916 in Adams Township in Green County, WI, the daughter of Levin and Alma (Peterson) Lageson. Lettie was united in marriage to Victor Dammen on March 28, 1939 in Dubuque, IA. She lived and farmed with her husband in Adams Township since 1941. Lettie worked seasonally at Swiss Colony in Monroe before she began working at Oaktron Industries where she worked for over 20 years, retiring in 1981. In 1988, they were celebrated by The AG Chest in Monroe as the oldest active dairy couple in Green County.

Lettie is survived by two sons: Donald (Dorothy) Dammen and Virgil (Nancy) Dammen both of Argyle; two grandchildren: Darci (Tom) Boll and David Dammen; and two great-grandchildren: Courtney and Caitlyn Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Victor on February 4, 2007; and one half-brother: Tody Sullivan.

Lettie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Adams Lutheran Church in rural Argyle and its Women of ELCA. Lettie also enjoyed cooking for her family and was known around Adams for her donuts and angel food cake.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Adams Lutheran Church, N7148 County Road A in rural Argyle with Rev. Rick Fry officiating. Burial will be in Adams Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Argyle. A visitation will be held Monday, December 1, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home, 801 East Milwaukee Street in Argyle.
