Leslie L. Leighty age 83 of Browntown, Wisconsin died on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born December 25, 1928 in Chicago Heights, Illinois the son of Kime and Julia (Bagby) Leighty. He attended Herscher High School in Herscher, IL. Leslie and Ellen Peters were married on June 13, 1953 in Markham, IL. He and his wife farmed in the Monee, IL area and later in the Browntown area and was a member of the Holstein Association of America.
Surviving is his wife, Ellen Leighty of Browntown; son, Brian Leighty of Browntown; daughter, Beth Flannery of Monroe; grandchildren, Josh and Jason Flannery, Nicole (Juan) Ramirez, Jacob and Ashley Leighty; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Franco and Brooklyn; sister, Betty (Gene) Frederickson of Sinking Spring, PA and a sister-in-law, Phyllis (Alan) Hamilton of Utica, MI. He is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Eugene and Virgil Leighty.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Jordan Lutheran Church with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until time of service at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, at the Church. The Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is serving the family.
