Leona M. Wells, age 76 of Monroe, died on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on September 8, 1935, in Monroe, the daughter of Rodney and Mary (Haas) Wells. She graduated from Ogden High School. She worked as a waitress and at Greenco industries for many years. She liked Swiss music, yodeling, dancing, crafts and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by nieces: Beverly (Harvey) Goepfert, Marilyn (Terry) Nolan, Mary (Dennis) Harris, Diane (Rick) Butler, Linda (Mike) Martin, Karen (Rick) Orton; nephews: Tony (Rita) Wells, Dennis (Phyllis) Wells, and Kenneth (Michelle) Wells; and great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; brothers, Clifford and Herbert Wells; sisters, Dorothy Kortmann and Marjorie Ballard; a nephew, Mike Wells.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral home with Pastor Marilyn Nolan officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
