Our beloved Lawrence Davis of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully this week (March 11, 1927-August 1, 2010) with his family by his side. Lawrence was 83 years old. We will remember our dear Lawrence as a wonderful spouse, father, grandfather and great grandfather who always brought joy and cheer wherever he went. As a geologist, Lawrence loved the outdoors and was especially passionate about wildlife, rocks and telling stories. Lawrence had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna (Bendel); children, Susan Johnson (James), Jeffrey, Stuart (Susan), Perry (Teri) and Elizabeth; grandchildren, Jamie, Nicolas, Stephanie and Megan; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Keegan, Jace, Morgan and Ben; and his brother, Allen Davis. Sincere appreciation to Anna Davis' Family and the Burkhart Family of Monroe, Wisconsin, who raised Lawrence for over 12 years and particular thanks to Nettie Marie Bledsoe, who was like a sister to Lawrence.

Lawrence was a native of Wisconsin and served in the U.S Army. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) with a B.S. degree in 1951. Lawrence had a long career as a Petroleum Geologist in Denver, Co. and was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologist and the Rocky Mountain Association of Petroleum Geologist.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents Allen and Bessie Davis and brother Rodger Davis.

We will miss you Lawrence. You will live forever in our hearts!
