LaVern "Lefty" Andrews

On September 6th, 2017, LaVern "Lefty" Andrews got called up to the 'Big Leagues' in heaven, where he is playing the game he loved his whole life.

Born to Gladys (Hartwick) and Harvey Andrews on December 16th, 1929, in Juda, Wisconsin. He played baseball for North Central College in Illinois, and University of Wisconsin where he got his degree in 1952 in Electrical Engineering. That same year he left for a job at Hughes Aircraft in California and remained with them his entire career spanning 44 years. He still enjoyed playing baseball, and softball until age 76.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; daughter Lorelei (Ray) Pevey, grandkids Chantel and Brett Pevey of Glendora, California; son Dean Andrews, of Laguna Beach, California; sisters Joan (Delton) Davis, Monroe, WI and Phyllis (Russell) Bauman, Juda, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Robert Schilt, sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Edwin Klema. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in California. He will be missed by everyone whose life he touched.
