NEW GLARUS - Joyce Irene Roth, age 82, of New Glarus passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at her home. She was born on January 9, 1933 at Mott, North Dakota to her parents Jacob and Irene (Schumacher) Tschudy. As a young girl her family left Mott to return to New Glarus. Joyce attended New Glarus Schools and in 1951 was united in marriage to Robert Roth. Joyce had worked at the New Glarus Hotel and then at the New Glarus Post for thirty years. She then embarked on a second career as a Realtor in New Glarus. Joyce was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus and had served on the Board of Directors for Small World.

Joyce is survived by her son Terry (Peggy) Roth of New Glarus, WI and daughters Bonnie (Michael) Klassy of Monticello, WI and Dee (Phil) Wittwer of Oregon, WI, grandchildren Bob (Michelle) Roth, Abby Roth, Andrea (Jeff) McSherry, Alisa Klassy, Amanda (Matt) Anderson, and Christina Wittwer, great-grandchildren Jake, Matt, Brock, Sara Irene, and Colin. She is further survived by her brothers Bernard James Tschudy of New Glarus, WI and Dean (Millie) Tschudy of Branson, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, son Robin, brothers Vernon Tschudy and Ronald Tschudy, and a sister Frieda Bernet.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 Fifth Ave., New Glarus, WI with the Rev. William Wineke officiating with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2015 prior to the funeral service at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus. In honor of Joyce, whose favorite part of the day was coffee hour with her family and friends, there will be a Coffee Klatsch in the Swiss United Church of Christ basement during visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
