Jerry A. Thompson, age 53 of Albany, died Friday, September 15, 2017. He was born on November 29, 1963 in Monroe, the son of Richard and Ruth (Lieutenegger) Thompson. He attended schools in Freeport and Round Lake, IL. Jerry worked as a carney for Chris Houston Enterprises for 20 years, and he also did construction work on the side. He enjoyed woodworking and carving.
He is survived by his children, Andy and Liam; mother, Ruth Gunderson of Monroe; brothers, Rick (Faith) Thompson of Monroe, David (Lahnii) Gunderson of Brodhead; sister, Evelyn (Mike Hanson) Mitchel of Monroe; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Tipton of Forreston, IL; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
A visitation will be held Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Mt. Carroll Cemetery, Mt. Carroll, IL at a later date.
