Jeffrey Patrick Holz, age 42 of Monroe, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at his home. He was born on January 1, 1972, the son of William and Patricia (Burke) Holz at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Jeff attended school in Monroe and Monticello. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1990. As a young man, Jeff tried out several different jobs and colleges, before finding his place at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire where he graduated with a major in Communications, with a minor in his beloved History in 2003. In the spring of 2004 Jeff began work at RR Donnelly, where he made countless friends and had many laughs over the last 10 years. Later that same year he met the love of his life Emily and they were married on April 19, 2008. Together they shared many happy and laughter filled days. They feel blessed to have had so many wonderful family and friends to share those days with. The last words of wisdom Jeff wanted to impart were: Enjoy today, don't sweat the small stuff, and always tell the people in your life how important and loved they are. Even though the cancer cut his life short, the imprint of him on our lives is forever and his laughter will always be in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife, Emily (Baumgartner) Holz of Monroe; mother, Patricia (Don) Markhardt of Beaver Dam; a sister, Katie (Noe) Pacheco of Menomonee Falls, WI; grandmother, Josephine Burke of Darlington; father and mother-in-law, Lyle and Margaret Baumgartner, Monroe; his two beloved dogs, Pigweed and Daphne; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William Holz; grandfather, Phil Burke; and grandparents Ernest and Alice Holz.
