NEW GLARUS/BELLEVILLE - Jean Pulver, age 80, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the New Glarus Home. She was born on April 26, 1931, the daughter of Wilbert and Hulda (Heuer) Elmer. Jean attended Spring Valley School and graduated from New Glarus High School. On April 7, 1984, she was united in marriage to Marvin Pulver. He preceded her in death in 2010. Jean worked on the family farm, was employed as a cook, and later in life managed an apartment complex. She enjoyed gardening, collecting cardinals and beanie babies, and was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. She was known for her baking and would share her cookies with everyone. Most of all, Jean loved her family and the time spent with them. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She is survived by her four children, Roger (Cheryl) Arn, Steve (Judy) Arn, Judy (Mike) Doyle and Linda (Ken) Meier; grandchildren, Michael and Craig Doyle, Cody Arn, Matthew and Nicholas Meier, Travis, Jeremy and Kimberly Bigler; great-grandson, Christian Bigler; sister, Elaine Funseth; nieces, Beverly, Lori, Vicki, Joni; and close friends of the family, Shelley (Duane) Yaeger and their son, Alex. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Pauline Elmer. Memorial services will be held at SWISS UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 18 Fifth Ave., New Glarus, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 21, 2012, with the Rev. Craig Jan-McMahon officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
