LENA, Ill. - Jane E. Kuhlman, 88, of Lena, passed away at her home on March 17, 2009. She was born on November 28, 1920 to J. Leo and Alice (Burgess) Howard. Jane graduated from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond Du Lac, WI. She married William H. Kuhlman and he preceded her in death on February 24, 1989. She worked all her life at St. Claire Hospital until retiring in 1991. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena. Jane was also member to the Association of Operating Room Nurses, Wisconsin Nurses Association, Parish Life Committee, and Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, traveling, and fishing in Canada.
Survivors include four sisters, Mary Bandi of Albany, WI, Ruth Nelson of Argyle, WI, Lucille Howard of Monroe, WI and Grace Sullivan of Humboldt, TN; 13 nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and -nephews; a sister-in-law, Roberta Altenbern of Wheat Ridge, CO; and a brother-in-law, Werner Weissenfluh of Monroe, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Juanita Olson and Hazel Weissenfluh; and a niece, Janie Ellen
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lena with a visitation preceding the service from 10 a.m. till the time of service
Father Max Striedl will officiate
There will be a visitation from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena. A Rosary service will be held at 4:15 p.m. prior to visitation.
Burial will take place at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Lena.
A memorial has been established in her name.
