James L. Nuckles, age 53, of rural Browntown, died on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at University Hospital in Madison. He was born on December 23, 1954, in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Leonard and Darlene (Ableman) Nuckles. James and Lois Birk were married on April 14, 1979 in Browntown. He farmed with his family in the Browntown area his entire life.
Surviving is his wife, Lois Nuckles, of rural Browntown; mother, Darlene Nuckles, of Monroe; children, DeAnne Nuckles of Brodhead, Rebecca Nuckles of Monroe, Joshua Nuckles of rural Browntown; brother, Rodney (John Rios) Nuckles of Palm Springs, Calif.; sisters, Bonnie (Donald) Barker Jr. of rural Monroe, Mary (Randy) Pitman of rural Arena; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Leonard, and a son, in infancy.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. John Tabaka of Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe. A visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
