Jack E. Sery age 93 of Monroe, Wisconsin died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at his home at Rachel's Choice. He was born August 10, 1919 in Monroe, WI, the son of Henry & Melvie (Boyd) Sery, graduated from Monroe High School in 1938, and Art Institute of Chicago in 1948. Jack entered the U.S. Army on June 5, 1941 at Milwaukee, WI, was a Crew Served Weapons Specialist in the Army's 7th Infantry Division during WWII in the Aleutian Islands off Alaska, and was discharged January 26, 1945 at Camp Swift, TX. He received the American Defense Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with Bronze Star, and Good Conduct Medal.

Jack married Marian L. Trukenbrod on October 24, 1944 in Monroe, WI. Jack was a Commercial Artist for 4 years in Chicago, and then joined the Brady Advertising Company in Stevens Point, WI in 1952. He & his family moved to Appleton, WI in 1953 with the Brady Co., & moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1962 with the Brady Co. where he retired after 32 years at the age of 65. Jack and Marian moved back to Monroe, WI in July of 2004.

Surviving are his sons, James H. (Zada) Sery of Oklahoma City, OK & William J. (Jillaine) Sery of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Marcia (James) Sery Crawford of Monroe, WI; grandchildren, Ariane N. Sery of Phoenix, AZ, Zada Ann (Wes) Farris of Yukon, OK, & James H. (Stacy) Sery, Jr. of Del City, OK; and great-grandchildren, Steven T. Farris of Yukon, OK, Lindzay S. Farris of Yukon, OK, & Emma G. Sery of Del City, OK. He is predeceased by his Parents; sister, Margaret Sery Frey; and his beloved wife, Marian.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to time of service at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 19, 2012 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive & N. 18th Avenue in Monroe, WI with Rev. Gretchen Sylvester officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.
