Illinois State Police District 16 announces Sept. activity

PECATONICA — Illinois State Police District 16 Commander, Lieutenant Joseph Blanchette, has announced District 16 enforcement figures and activity for the month of September. 

Illinois State Police District 16 Troopers issued 529 total citations and 569 written warnings during the month. Speed violations accounted for 189 citations. Sixty-four citations were issued for occupant restraint violations and 44 enforcement documents were issued for distracted driving violations. 

Troopers investigated 22 traffic crashes and assisted 93 motorists. Two hundred seventy-five commercial motor vehicle inspections were completed with 15 drivers and/or vehicles being placed out of service. 

Troopers made 16 arrests for driving under the influence and 30 criminal arrests. Twelve enforcement documents were issued for Scott’s Law violations. 

District 16, which encompasses Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Winnebago and Boone Counties, had three traffic fatalities in September.
