Hilton E. Kirchner, age 93 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born October 4, 1915 at Stitzer, WI, the son of Louis and Orah (Brun) Kirchner and graduated from LaCrosse Business College.

Hilton and Hilda Eckart were married on April 5, 1941 in LaCrosse, WI. Hilton was a member of Co. K & Co. B, 128th Infantry, 32nd Division for 6 years. He was a Revenue Agent with the IRS in charge of the Monroe Office. In 1954, Hilton quit the IRS and opened a tax and accounting office here in Monroe. Hilton was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church, member of Rotary Club for many years, and Monroe City Alderman for 17 1/2 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family.

Surviving are his daughter, Susan J. (Edison) Wong of Vacaville, CA; son, Stephen H. Kirchner of Monroe, WI; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife; parents; brother, Edward Kirchner; and sister, Lois Rech.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Monroe United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Booth officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.

Memorials may be directed to Monroe United Methodist Church or the Good Samaritan Fund in Hilton's memory.
