BRODHEAD - Helene E. Meythaler, age 88, of Brodhead, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 31, 2014, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville, WI. She was born on June 13, 1925 in Monticello, WI, the daughter of Forrest and Clara (Herrli) Taylor. She married Leo L. Meythaler in Brodhead on February 12, 1944. He passed away on March 4, 1977.
Helene and her husband farmed in Spring Valley Township, Rock County, for 34 years. She was a homemaker, enjoying ministry, travel, dancing and playing cards. Faith, family and friends were the most important part of her life. She was a member of Living Word Church, Brodhead.
Helene is survived by her children, Terry (Diann) Meythaler, Gentry, AR, Sandra (Herron) Miller, Newark, DE, Julie (Wayne) Pfister, Evansville, WI, Connie (Jeff) Looze, Sun Prairie, WI; four half-brothers, George, Elden, Rolland and Sheldon; two half-sisters, Ilene and Carol; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Leonard.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 4th, 2014, at the Living Word Church, Brodhead, WI, with Pastor Rob Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Monday, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI.
