Rev. Heide R. Walker Hackman, age 47, of Belleville, died on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. She was born on July 29, 1969 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of Wayne and Alberta (Morse) Walker.
Heide graduated from Fort Atkinson High school in 1987, U.W. Wyoming with a B.A. degree in History in 1992, and a Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary in 1995.
Heide and Todd Hackman were united in marriage on August 12, 1995 at First Congregational Church in Fort Atkinson.
Rev. Heide R. Walker Hackman served as a called pastor at Payson and Bluff Hall Parish in Payson, IL, Zion United Church of Christ in Union, MO, First United Church of Christ in Belleville and several others as intern, interims and supply pastor.
She was a member and V.P. of Chi Omega Sorority at Wyoming. In Wisconsin she served as moderator for Southwest Association conference of United Church of Christ, Chairperson of Church and Ministry, served as a delegate to general synod, along with several other responsibilities.
She enjoyed mission work, visitation, and was supportive of the Belleville High School sports and music programs. In high school she enjoyed tennis, cross country, and playing the viola. Heide loved walking with her beloved dog Luna.
She is survived by her husband Rev. Todd Hackman, of Belleville, children, Jacob and Matthew Hackman at home; parents, Wayne and Alberta Walker of Milton, brother, Sean and wife Kristin Walker of Burke, VA; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Jolene Hackman of Columbia, MO; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Tracy Bach of Columbia, MO; nieces and nephews, Melanie, Sam, Raquel, Walker and Payton and Riley Bach; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe, with South West Conference Associate Minister, Rev. Joanne Thompson officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 19th, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at First United Church of Christ in Belleville, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Heide's name to First United Church of Christ, Belleville.
