JANESVILLE - Grace A. Elmer, age 88, of Janesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday September 14, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital Janesville, WI. She was born in Argyle, WI on August 15, 1924, the daughter of James and Kathryn (Scott) Pontell. She graduated from Argyle High School, and married Clarence D. Elmer on November 23, 1946, in Freeport, IL. Grace worked at Alpine Restaurant for many years and was a wonderful mother, and homemaker. She loved going out for dinner, dancing, camping, going to the Casino, and going to her place on the water, in Minocqua, WI.
She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Elmer of Janesville; 3 children : David (Geneice) Elmer of Janesville; Marsha (Steve) Betlach of Iowa, Cindy (Doug) Beardmore of Janesville; 12 grandchildren: Bradley (April) Elmer, Mike (Cathy) Pasch, Chad Pasch, Brenda (Mike Wixom) Teubert, Jeremy (Jana) Betlach, Aaron (Sarah) Betlach, Abbey Betlach, Lyndsey (Dave) Scheidell, Sarah Elmer, Casey (Jake) Dutcher, Elizabeth Beardmore, Michael Beardmore; 10 great grandchildren; many other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Gary Elmer. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Burial will be held at Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
