Glenn Henry Scott, age 59 of Monroe, died on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Glenn was born on February 15, 1957 in Darlington, WI, the son of Kenneth and Mary Scott. He was a 1975 graduate of Lanark High School where he received honors and awards for his achievements in wrestling and football. His senior year he received the Dick DeHaven award, the only person from Lanark to earn this athletic achievement. Glenn married Kim Peterson on October 15, 1983 and together they had three children. He worked as a press operator in Freeport for 18 years and held various other jobs throughout the years until he was no longer able to work due to health concerns. He spent his later years finishing a book he had worked on throughout his life which is in the process of being published. Glenn was full of life, wisdom, and was a fully devoted Christian who impacted everyone he met. He enjoyed reading, sports, spending time with his family, and always knew how to have a good time. He was always writing to express his opinion and his life experiences and when times got tough he always found a way to pull through. He was always seeking knowledge and spent hours reading and watching historical documentaries. His endurance and stamina were inspiring and the influence he left with his loved ones will last forever. His strong will and compassion will never be forgotten.
Glenn will be deeply missed by his three children, Nathaniel, Justin, and Stephanie, all of Monroe; three sisters, Maureen, Melissa, and Marietta; a brother, Michael; an aunt and uncle, Glenda and Paul; and several nieces and nephews.
