George Frank Bannister, age 83 of Gratiot, WI, passed away Monday, May 10, 2010, at Monroe Hospital Clinic in Monroe, WI. He was born June 16, 1926 in Aurora, IL, the son of Dwight and Coletta (Riedy) Bannister. George graduated from Naperville High School in 1945. He lived in Naperville, IL, where he farmed with his brother until 1982; at which time he moved to rural Gratiot, where he eventually retired.
George is survived by one son: George "Jerry" (Jessica) Bannister of Oswego, IL; one grandson: Anthony Bannister; one brother: James (Christine) Bannister of Plainfield, IL; one sister: Ruth (Edgar) Jackson of Montgomery, IL; and special friends: Jim (Margo) Kautz of rural Darlington. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Elaine Ferry.
George enjoyed the outdoors.
