Gary M. Eldred, age 53, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away on February 13 at his home. He was born June 7, 1961 in Portage, WI to Steven Eugene Eldred and Virginia (Halvorson). Gary lived in Janesville before moving to Brodhead, where he graduated as Valedictorian of his high school class in "79. Gary married Lori Lindley (Nee) Hegi of Brodhead on June 25, 1983, and they had four daughters: Amber (Kyle) Condon, Ashlea (Dan) Hughes, Amanda (Andy) Mosel, and Angela Eldred.
Gary spent most of his life in the Brodhead and Janesville area before recently moving to Arkansas. He worked for many years at Advance Transformer in Monroe, as well as at Century Satellite and as a bartender at Flynn's in Brodhead. Gary liked to fish, hunt, and play cards. He also enjoyed bowling, crosswords, riding his bicycle, and spending time with his family. Gary was very generous and loved to help people. He always had a smile on his face and was eager to make everyone laugh.
Gary is survived by his four daughters, his son, Travis Becherer, and his grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Deb Burkheimer, Steve (Janet) Eldred, Randy Eldred, Cheri (Roger) Johnson, Barb (Brian) Fish and David Eldred, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Gerald Bruni and his son-in-law, Justin Condon.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held at Everson Funeral Home in Brodhead on Saturday, February 21 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
