JANESVILLE - Franklin F. Schneider, age 76, of Janesville, died on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. He was born in Browntown on July 12, 1936, the son of Edward and Lillian (Frei) Schneider. He was a graduate of Monroe High School and was also enlisted in the Army National Guard as a Sharpshooter for 2 years in Seattle during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He married Bonita (Soddy) Pajak on Nov. 21, 1954. He later married Ruth M. (Helgerson) Beyer on Feb. 19, 1982, at Cargill United Methodist Church, Janesville. Frank worked for General Motors in the Maintenance Department for 30 years before his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Cargill UMC, Milton Village Square Dancing, Ned Hollister Bird Club, Green Rock Audubon Society, and the UAW Local 95. Frank was a Red Cross Blood Donor giving well over 20 gallons. He also volunteered for the J-Hawk Aquatic Club and worked with the Boy Scouts teaching Marksmanship. Frank was a Packer, Badger and Brewer fan, liked traveling, wind surfing, playing cards, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; 3 children; Anthony Schneider of Rockford, IL, Randall (Nancy) Schneider of Janesville and Steven Schneider of Freeport, IL; 9 grandchildren: Aimee, Michelle, Emily, Dustin, Derek, Hailey, Kali Rae, Roxanne, Kyle; 6 great-grandchildren, Braydeen, Julian, Hillery, Allie, Drew, and Vanessa; 4 step-children: Debra Schwartz and Dale (Cheryl) Beyer both of Janesville, Duane (Esther) Beyer of Hudson and David (fiancé, Becky Beach) Beyer of Oregon; 11 step-grandchildren: Jessica, Jeremy, Austin, Constance, Kaitlynn, Amanda, Alexander, Abilena, Andrea, Jacob and Zachary; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Allison and Cameron; 2 brothers, Albert Schneider of Albany and Arthur Schneider of Monroe; and 2 sisters, Faye Leck of Monroe and Florence Mc Names of Jeffersonville, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William; 2 sisters, Frieda Wyssbrod and Frances Beach; and a great-grandson, Darius Blunt.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Cargill United Methodist Church, Janesville with Rev. Forest Wells officiating. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, Evansville.
