Frances M. Happ, age 79 of Monroe, died Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe. Frances was born November 5, 1928 in Chicago, the daughter of Ernest and Frances (Clarke) Menzel. She married Leo Happ on August 21, 1955 in Byron, IL.
He preceded her in death in January 1989.
Frances worked in Chicago for several years and following her marriage, she and Leo lived in Davis Junction, IL until moving to Monroe in 1975.
Survivors include four daughters, Marguerite Harmon of Copperas Cove, TX, Louise (William) Shipley of Davenport, IA, Leta Happ (Donovan Luchsinger) of Brooklyn, WI, and Anne Happ of Reedsburg, WI; three sons, Peter (Annette) of Stockton, IL, Leo (Malinda) of Monroe, and Henry (Marcette) of Costa Rica; 13 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Frederick and Charles Menzel.
A memorial service for Frances M. Happ will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2008, at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe with Monsignor Thomas Campion officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be held in Monroe Center, IL.
