BRODHEAD - Fran M. Newcomer, age 76, of Brodhead, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, in Platteville, WI. She was born on November 23, 1933 in the Brodhead area, the daughter of John and Alice (Nenneman) Egger. She married Willis D. Newcomer on December 4, 1954 in Brodhead. He passed away on October 13, 1990.
Fran graduated from Orfordville High School. She and her husband Willis farmed in Spring Grove Township from 1954 until 1988. She was a devoted member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall of Brodhead.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Brian) Neubauer, West Allis, WI, three grandsons, Braden, Jerrett, and Chase, a brother, Robert Egger, Janesville, four sisters, Virginia Becker, Monroe, Charlotte Hamilton, Stoughton, Marlene Sanders, Sparta, WI, Sharon (Keith) Hagen, Milton, WI, and a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Egger, Janesville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Albert, Richard, Jean, Jerry, Johnny, and Margarite.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 26, 2010, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead.
