Floyd F. Stuckey, age 91 of Monroe died peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at his home.

Floyd was born December 1, 1919 in Stephenson County, Illinois, the son of John and Magdalena (Graf) Stuckey. He attended Walnut Grove Rural School. Floyd married Helen E. Duchow on August 25, 1943 in Juda.

He farmed in Jefferson Township until retiring in 1984. After farming for 45 years, Floyd still enjoyed living in the country and being active and independent. He continued to mow his own lawn, cut and split wood, and work on projects in his work shed. He loved feeding and watching the birds, turkeys, and deer that were frequent visitors to his backyard. He loved having his family visit and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and friends. Floyd had a deep faith in God and was very active in the Clarno Zion United Methodist Church.

He is survived by three children, Dennis (Bev) Stuckey of Monroe, Larry (Carol) Stuckey of Lancaster, WI, and Joyce (Steve) Wuetrich of Madison; six grandchildren, Todd (Kristin) Bernhagen, Phillip (Lynn) Stuckey, Dawn (Sam) Steinhoff, Jason (Amie) Stuckey, Mark Stuckey, and Matt Wuetrich; 5 step-grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 12 step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen in 2005; a son, Gerald in 1971; four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Paul Gregerson of the Clarno Zion United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a luncheon at the Monroe V.F.W. Post #2312. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
