Florence L. Crouch, age 92 of Monticello, died Monday, February 9, 2009 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital.
Florence was born May 30, 1916 in New Glarus, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Louise (Spring) Wittwer. She attended school in New Glarus and married Albert Crouch on October 27, 1934 in York Township, Green County.
They farmed in Adams and Washington Townships before retiring and moving to Monticello in 1973.
Florence was a member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello and a former member of the Adams Township Homemakers.
She is survived by three sons, Eugene (Joan) Crouch of Madison, Norman (Carol) Crouch of Minneapolis, MN, and Dennis Crouch of Monticello; a daughter, Sharon (Tim) Peterson of Menomonie, WI; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene Meyer of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert on November 18, 1992; and two brothers, Wilbert and Clarence Wittwer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at the VOEGELI-NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 360 S. Garfield St., Monticello. Reverend Lawrence Balleine of Zwingli United Church of Christ will officiate with interment to follow in Highland Cemetery, Monticello. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 13, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in Florence's name.
