BRODHEAD - Evelyn L. Dodd, age 68, of Brodhead, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2008, at her home. She was born on March 1, 1940 in Whitewater, WI, the daughter of Dale and Mary (Waidelich) Denio. She married Donald Dodd Sr. on July 21, 1962 in Janesville. WI.
Evelyn had lived in the Albany-Brodhead area most of her married life and was very faithful in ministering to the elderly and loved Bible study at her home. She loved gardening, baking, fishing, and playing music either on the piano, organ, or accordion, at her church. Evelyn was a member of the Living Word Tabernacle Church of Brodhead, and a past Sunday school teacher. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Sr.; a daughter, Lisa (Brian) Peterson, San Antonio, TX; four sons, Donald (Mary) Dodd Jr., David (Diane) Dodd, Douglas (Tammy) Dodd, all of Brodhead, Daniel (Julie) Dodd, Janesville, WI; two sisters, Bonnie Denio, Ruth Joy; three brothers, Melvin Denio, Roy Denio, Russell Denio; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Rev. Rob Gibson officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, until time of service at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service at the Living Word Tabernacle, Brodhead.
