BRODHEAD/MONROE - Eva A. Hawkins, age 85, of Monroe, formerly of Brodhead, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe, WI, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 17, 1923 in Rock County, the daughter of Albert and Harriet (Keller) Nolty. She married Harold E. Hawkins on September 29, 1943 in Brodhead. He passed away on December 29, 2002.
Eva had lived in the Brodhead/Monroe area most of her life and had farmed with her husband near Brodhead. She also attended the Church of the Nazarene, Brodhead. Eva loved being with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra (John) Eller, Spring Green, WI, Valerie (Ray) Harvey, Beloit, WI; five sons, Harold (Karen) Hawkins Jr., Beloit, Curtis and Kevin (Cari Jones) Hawkins, both of Monroe, Stephen (Kristine) Hawkins, Brodhead, Charles (Melodie) Hawkins, South Wayne, WI; two sisters, Bonnie (Chester) Lewis, Brodhead, Vivian (Wilbur) Kraus, Kalispell, MT; twenty-one grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Patsy Lou and Sharon Ann; a sister; and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Pastor David Krohn officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
