Ernest LaRay Noble, age 76 of Woodford, WI, passed away Friday, December 4, 2015 surrounded by his family at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, WI following a short battle with lung cancer. He was born July 15, 1939 in Gratiot Township, WI the son of Chester and LuElla (Seffrood) Noble. Ernest was united in marriage to Karen J. McKinstry on March 10, 1961 at West Wiota Lutheran Church in Wiota, WI. Ernest served in the US Navy for three years. Following his honorable discharge he lived, worked, and raised his family in southwestern Wisconsin. His jobs included mining, farming, over-the-road truck driving, and driving school bus for Black Hawk School District.

Ernest is survived by his children: Rejeana Rae (George) Nelson of Pewaukee, WI, Richard Carl (Patricia) Noble of Argyle, WI, Rhonda (Bob) Sweeney of Woodford, Robin (Tim) Frankowski of Monticello, WI, and Reva (Kevin) Harwick of Warren, IL; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Larry (Helen) Noble of Gratiot and Terry Noble of Apple River, IL; and one sister-in-law: Cathy Noble of Gratiot, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Karen on February 5, 2015, and one brother: Raymond Noble.

Ernest was a member of Wiota Lutheran Church. He enjoyed watching western movies and playing cards. Ernest loved to spend time with his family and watch them grow as individuals. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Wiota Lutheran Church (6682 State Rd. 78, South Wayne) with Rev. Mae Jean Zelle officiating. Burial will be in West Wiota Cemetery where military graveside rites will be accorded by Argyle American Legion Post #251. Visitation will be held Monday, December 7, 2015 from 3:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at Wiota Lutheran Church and again on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church.
