Elaine F. Mauerman, age 86 of Monroe, died Friday, September 12, 2014 at Community Living Home Options. She was born on May 25, 1928 in Orangeville, IL, the daughter of Lester and Mabel (Clarno) Schulz. Elaine graduated from Monticello High School. Elaine and Nathan Mauerman were married on May 15, 1955 in Monroe. Nathan died on October 26, 1998. She worked at Montgomery Wards for 2 years, farmed for 4 years, Advance Transformer for 7 years, then Industrial Combustion for 22 years. She was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church, she enjoyed chip carving, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by two daughters: Debbie (Larry) Mann of Winslow, IL and Linda (Richard) Nyborg of Eau Claire; 1 grandson, Paul; 2 step-grandchildren, Dennis and Tina; 5 step-great grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn Grenzow of Monticello; 2 sister-in-laws, Mary Schulz of Monticello and Pauline Schulz of Brodhead. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers: Harold, Paul, Lester and Marion; 2 sisters, Ruth Stauffer and Doris Ziltner; sister-in-law, Lois Dietrich.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Monroe United Methodist Church, with Pastor Randy Booth officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral home. A memorial fund will be established in Elaine's name.
