Dwaine Dale Dimmitt, 74, of Ottumwa, IA, passed away at 4:10 p.m. March 20, 2017 at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
He was born October 1, 1942 in Ottumwa to Paul and Velma Sparks Dimmitt. He married Linda Fuhs on February 23, 1963.
A 1960 graduate of Eddyville High School, he had lived in Ottumwa except from 1980 to 2012 when he worked for Swiss Colony, in Monroe, WI retiring as plant engineer in 2001.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ottumwa.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving is his wife, Linda; three daughters, Terrie (Dennis) Bryant of Udell, IA Barbara (Ron) Logston of Cincinnati, IA and Rebecca (Jeff) Hornback of Highland Center, IA; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Patrick Hilgendorf presiding. Cremation will follow the services. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
