Doris Virginia (Eidsmoe) Scheidegger, age 86, of Blanchardville, passed away on Sunday evening, April 18, 2010, at the New Glarus Nursing Home. The former Doris Eidsmoe was born on June 3, 1923, in the Town of Moscow, Iowa County, Wisconsin, to parents Oscar and Bertina (Tofsrud) Eidsmoe.
She attended the Moscow Rural School and graduated from the Blanchardville High School Class of 1941. She attended a Madison business college and worked in Madison offices until her marriage to Fred Scheidegger on December 6, 1956, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Dubuque, Iowa. They lived and made cheese in the Brager Cheese Factory, rural Blanchardville, until 1962. She then went to work in Madison for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue until her retirement in 1984. In 1969, they moved to their new home in rural Blanchardville and, after retiring, spent the winters for 10 years in Las Vegas until her husband, Fred, passed away in 1995.
She was a member of the Blanchardville Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society. She loved traveling, gardening, flowers, morning coffee clutches and she cared for her family dearly.
