Doris C. Woldin, age 87 of Argyle, WI, passed away Friday, September 12, 2008 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington, WI. She was born April 3, 1921 in Leon Township in Monroe County, WI, the daughter of Oscar and Edna (Bronson) Simonson. Doris graduated from Sparta High School, and later from Sparta Business School. She was united in marriage to Howard L. Woldin on September 21, 1953, in Freeport, IL. Doris worked at the Marine Corps Headquarters in Washington, D.C. for five years before her marriage. Doris and Howard then moved to Illinois where she worked as a secretary for Structo in Freeport and helped her husband farm. In 1975 they moved to rural Argyle where she has resided since. Doris also worked for the city of Monroe for over 30 years.

Doris is survived by one son: John (Susan, who was Doris' very best-friend) Webster of Monroe, WI; four grandchildren: John (Twila) Webster of Alaska, Michelle (Steve Schwartzlow) Webster of Brodhead, WI, Michael (Amy) Webster of Argyle, and Candy (Don) Trapp of Albany, WI; special grandson: Robert (Ruth Ann) Vogel of Brodhead, WI; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law: Don Hehn of Cashton, WI; three nephews: Alan and Roger Hehn, Tom Simonson and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Howard on March 2, 1994; two brothers: Harvey and Loren Simonson; one sister: Eleanore Hehn; and one nephew: Ronald Simonson.

Doris was a member and past janitor of Apple Grove Lutheran Church and currently a member of Sons of Norway. She enjoyed rosemaling, fishing, making lefse, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Apple Grove Lutheran Church in Argyle, WI with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be at Apple Grove Cemetery in rural Argyle. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2008 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle.
