Donald N. Rutsch, age 85 of Monroe, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born on July 15, 1927 in Monroe, the son of Nicholas and Sophia (Benkert) Rutsch. He graduated from Monroe High School. Don served in the Army for two years after graduating. Donald married Marilyn Teuscher on December 23, 1956 in Browntown. He started Don's Standard and Towing in 1947, which he ran until retiring in 2004. He belonged to Peace United Church of Christ in Browntown. Don enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn of Monroe; a son, Terry (Donna) Rutsch of Monroe; a daughter, Tammy Rutsch of Brodhead; 5 grandchildren: Trevor, Tara, Shandi, Selyna and Briyanna; 1 great-grandson, Gibson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and several half brothers and half sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Peace United Church of Christ in Browntown, with Pastor David Busker officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral home, and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Don's name to the Peace United Church of Christ in Browntown.
