Donald D. Nenneman, age 70 of Monroe, formerly of Juda, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. Don was born February 17, 1939 in Monroe, the son of Ralph J. and Minnie L. (Mohns) Nenneman. He graduated from Juda High School in 1957 and married Helen L. Seffrood on December 6, 1969.

Don was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brodhead where he sang in the choir, served on the church council, and was custodian for 11 years.

He farmed in Jefferson Township from the time of his Dad's death until March of 2001. Don and Helen moved to Monroe in November 2009 and transferred their church membership to Grace Lutheran in Monroe. Don served on the Juda School Board for many years. He also served on the Green County Library Board for 30 years as well as the South Central Library Board.

He enjoyed sports and played on several slow pitch teams. His real love was bowling. He was a serious and competitive bowler and in 1998 Don won first place in the Janesville Bowling Association. Don also enjoyed fishing, softball, dominoes, and reading, especially WWII novels.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Nenneman of Monroe; his son, Daniel (Rashmi) Nenneman of Lakeville, MN; and two grandsons, Himal (age 8) and Tejas Nenneman (age 6).

He was preceded in death by his father in April, 1963; his mother on November 21, 2009; and a sister, Beverly Nenneman in 1997.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe with Rev. Margo Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Juda. Visitation will be at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Don's name.
