Dennis "Denny" R. Gutzmer

Dennis "Denny" R. Gutzmer, age 62, of Monticello, passed peacefully Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Monroe Clinic Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 20, 1952 in Monroe, the son of Leo and Faye (Soper) Gutzmer.

Denny married Brenda Boals on September 18, 1993 in Orangeville, IL. He was previously married to Janet Long and later Paula Baker.

Denny was employed with MTX as a Metal Stamper for 30 plus years retiring in 2011.

Denny was a workaholic, but when he was not working he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, camping, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Gutzmer and their two sons, Alex and Andrew Gutzmer all of Monticello; sons, Neil and Eric Gutzmer both of Monroe; daughters, Michelle (Frank) Bissaillon of Monroe; Malisa (Richard) McLoud of Monroe; brothers, Gary Gutzmer of Kenewick, WA; Phil (Lauri) Gutzmer of Monticello; sisters, Marilyn Lien of McFarland; Shirley Zuhlke of Brodhead; sister-in-laws, Vicki Gutzmer and Amy Gutzmer; and 8 grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents; son, Aaron; brothers; Roger, Jerold, Ronnie, and Greg; sister, Judy Sardeson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 10:00 to 12:00 Noon at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., and N. 18th Ave., in Monroe. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Denny's name.
