JUDA - David J. "Trapper" Pagel, age 71, of Juda, WI, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe, WI. He was born on August 9, 1945 in Monroe, WI, the son of Emanuel and Hulda (Morris) Pagel. He married Karen K. Hanson on October 3, 1964 at the West Wiota Lutheran Church.

Dave graduated from South Wayne High School in 1963 and had worked at Monroe Business Forms, Monroe, WI, for 39 years. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He enjoyed going on drives in his truck to look at nature. He was an avid hunter, trapper, and also enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, and watching the Packers, Badgers and Brewers.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; a daughter, Suzanne (Phillip) Trotter, Juda; a son, Daniel (Lisa) Pagel, Rockton, IL; a brother, Allan (Rosemary) Pagel, Denmark, WI; a sister, Mary (Leonard) Harrison, Belvidere, IL; brother-in-law, Melvin (Carolynn) Hanson, Adams Friendship, WI; a sister-in-law, Marie Pagel, Monticello, WI; and four grandchildren, Ashton Goff, Megan (Dennis Bernau), McKayla, and Matthew Trotter. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Daryl, and a sister, Doris Seffrood.

Memorial services will be held at noon on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Rev. Mary Gafner officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30, Tuesday, until time of services at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
