David "Dave" Barrett

David "Dave" Barrett, age 59, of Monroe, died on Friday, January 16, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at the Monroe Clinic Hospital after an unyielding 8-month battle with cancer. True to his character, he fought until his last breath. He was born on December 22, 1955 the son of Delos and Marleah (Prien) Barrett in Monroe. David was a 1974 graduate of Monroe High School.

David and Peggy Dye were married on March 20, 1976 in Monroe.

Dave was an over the road trucker and owner of Barrett Building and Remodeling.

Dave is survived by his wife, Peggy of Monroe; daughters, Jana (Brian) Mitchell of Sparta; Jessica (Sean) O'Brien of Riverside, IL; son, Jacob (Brianna) Barrett of Sun Prairie; mother, Marleah Barrett of Monroe; brother, Paul (Susan) Barrett of Monroe, grandsons: Aiden, Logan and Declan. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws; David (Denise) Dye, Carol (Dennis) Linn, Deanna (Matt) Beveridge and Donny Dye.

He is predeceased by his father, Delos Barrett, and brother, Dan Barrett.

Although he is gone, he can never be forgotten. His selflessness, tenaciousness, and creativity will continue to shine through his children and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Peppercorn Banquet Hall 1417 Mansion Drive, in Monroe, Wisconsin.
