Darlyne F. Graber age 89 of Monroe died Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home. Darlyne was born January 18, 1926 in Washington Township, Green County, the daughter of Carl and Edna (Hartwig) Rufer. She attended Purcell Rural School and graduated from Monroe High School in 1943. Darlyne married Otto Graber on September 4, 1954 at the Washington Reformation United Church of Christ. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1993. Darlyne was a lifetime member of the Washington Church where she taught Sunday School for 25 years and was an active member of the Friendly Service Circle and Women's Guild. She was a 40-year member of the Women of the Moose Chapter #599 and volunteered at the New Glarus Home for several years. She enjoyed gardening, canning, flowers, bird watching, reading, big band music, and word search puzzles.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Graber of Madison; a son, Steven Graber of Monticello; sister-in-law, Lillian (Ted) Falk of Monroe; brother-in-law, Peter (Shirley) Graber of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Merlyn (Vivian) Rufer; brother-in-law, Permin (Verena) Graber; sister-in-law, Marie (Erick) Siegenthaler; and a nephew, Richard Graber.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at the Washington Reformation United Church of Christ, N6026 Church Road, Monticello, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Interment will be in the Washington Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, 360 S. Garfield, Monticello, and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in Darlyne's name for the Washington Church.
