Darlene A. Campbell, age 81 of Monroe, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at her daughter's home. She was born on May 25, 1927 in Monroe; the daughter of Edward and Anna (Bauman) Huber. She graduated from Monroe High School. She retired to Monroe in 1990, after raising her family in Albuquerque, NM; where she had resided for 35 years. She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church; she was a volunteer with Green Haven and Historic Monroe. Darlene loved to do crossword puzzles, read and enjoyed going to auctions.
She is survived by two sons, Lynn Campbell of Monroe and Lee (Eva) Campbell of Rio Rancho, NM; three daughters: Georgene Baum and Debra McGuire, both of Rock Grove, IL, Diane (Mark) Rossignol of Albuquerque, NM; a brother, Norman (Opal) Huber of Monroe; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; plus many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2009 at St. Victor Catholic Church, with Fr. Michael E. Klarer concelebrating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be given to Monroe Clinic Hospice in Darlene's name. Shriner-Hager-Gohlke funeral home is assisting the family.
